Like the graphic style, it definitely feels like you are missing some way to defend yourself/attack enemies. I did the typical "jump on their heads" and of course I died!

Hi, thanks Matthew, received!

Impressive!

Great to hear this is still in development - keep me posted for Retro Gamer!

That's looking good. I would say, add more of a visual indicator when the PLAYER is hit/injured - I didn't notice my health was going down. Either highlight it in red on the status panel or add an effect to the character itself.

Matthew, would love to talk to you about your BASIC 10-Liner games for Retro Gamer - we did meet at Crash Live last year but I didn't get contact details! Get in touch!

Very impressive! Just managed it 30.6s

Good fun. I did have a run where the grey stone blocks blocked off half the grid and I couldn't get past.

Really interesting to read how this was done

Looking forward to this, would love to review it for Retro Gamer

Hi Brian, I do like to feature PICO-8 in my column because there is so much creativity in the scene and lots of retro-related titles out there.

Oh, I love that! The miniature screens inside the map are really clever.

Hi, would be interested in covering this for Retro Gamer

Excellent, really looking forward to this

I personally think it is best not to use Goombas at all - but that is your choice. Bricks would be simpler, but maybe a cute enemy in the style of the Goombas/Mario enemies?

This is a fun idea - although it might be better to redesign the Goombas and have them as a hidden skin/option.

Thanks for the mention! It was my predecessor (the late Jason Kelk) who introduced me to PICO-8, and I've enjoyed getting coverage of the format and its games into the magazine recently.

Looks and sounds excellent

Good fun, found all the secrets!

Brilliant work, another great port!

This received a brief review in issue 253 of Retro Gamer magazine - in the Homebrewer's Kit column for homebrew/indie games, receiving 78%

Great, just to confirm the update cured the shield/hull integrity problem!

Hi, been playing and enjoying the game so far.

However, have hit a bug with my main save slot.

I upgraded both Shield and Hull Integrity to their maximum. Now the indicators show <null> instead of a value/bar and I can't take damage!

I have also noticed that I currently cannot access the online leaderboards from that save, but that is a separate issue.

Love it, reminds me of GEOS.

Well, this looks really interesting - would love to help test/Early Access, and could possibly get this some wider press coverage...

D’oh! Got my issues mixed up

Read an interview with John Davies in issue 251 of Retro Gamer, out at the end of September

right, thanks!

I've reassembled the pieces - but does it detect that you have won/completed it?

Cool. Needs to be a time limit or something on it, or perhaps particular blocks/paths that only Wheel Mode can get through...

Odd. Creatures don't seem to be spawning properly, go for ages without seeing one - and when I do kill one, the count doesn't go up?

thanks! Good luck with the game, we will review it in ZZAP! 64 soon

Is this a final build or just a preview?

Put me down for a hysical cartridge :D

 Brilliant!

Thanks! That makes more sense.
